Rondi Reed Biography

Rondi A. Reed was born October 26, 1952 in Dixon, Illinois. She attended Dixon High School and graduated in 1969. She later attended Illinois State University where she graduated in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in theater. In 1979, she joined Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago and has appeared in 51 of their productions. She appeared on Broadway in “The Grapes of Wrath” in 1990 and “The Rise and Fall of Little Voice” in 1994. On July 13, 2005 she originated the role of Madame Morrible in the Chicago production of the musical “Wicked.”

For her stage work, she has won the Joseph Jefferson Award multiple times, the Sarah Siddons Award and the Tony Award in 2008 for Best Actress in a Featured Role for her performance as ‘Mattie Fay Aiken’ in the play, “August Osage County.”

Rondi has acted in numerous films and television shows. She is best known for portraying Peggy Biggs on “Mike & Molly.”
